High School Contests 2022/2023!

This year we will be offering the following contests:

High School Contests:

Doug Ingalls Monologue Contest - open to all high school students in grade 12. In-person on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Norwood High School. Virtual submission available.

Scene Partner Contest - open to all high school students in grades 9-12. In-person on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Norwood High School. Virtual submission available.

HS Excellence in Technical Theater Contest - open to all high school students in grades 9-12. In-person on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Norwood High School. Virtual submission available.

HS Festival Logo Design Contest - open to all high school students in grades 9-12. This contest does not meet in-person - virtual submission only.


Writing Contests: These contests are virtual submission only and include a virtual workshop as part of the registration.

Sherwood Collins Playwriting Contest - open to all high school students in grades 9-12

Monologue Writing Contest - open to all middle and high school students in grades 5-12

10-Minute Play Contest - open to all middle and high school students in grades 5-12

Important Contest Dates:

Registration opens on October 19, 2022, for the following contests:

Doug Ingalls Monologue Contest, Scene Partner Contest, HS Excellence in Technical Theater Contest, HS Festival Logo Design Contest, Sherwood Collins Playwriting Contest, Monologue Writing Contest, and 10-Minute Play Contest.

All IN-PERSON entries will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Norwood High School.

Virtual Feedback Sessions will be held December 12, 2022 - December 15, 2022, for the following contests:

Doug Ingalls Monologue Contest - Monday, December 12th at 7:00pm

Scene Partner Contest - Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30pm

HS Excellence in Technical Theater Contest - Friday, December 16th at 6:00pm

The top students in each contest will be invited to a feedback session on Zoom with the judges. The specific dates will be added to this document when they are available.


The Winners Announcement Video will be posted on December 18, 2022, for the following contests:

Fees: *

For member schools there is a $15.00 entry fee per student, per contest for the following contests:

Doug Ingalls Monologue Contest, Scene Partner Contest, HS Excellence in Technical Theater Contest, HS Festival Logo Design Contest

For non-member schools there is a $20.00 entry fee per student, per contest for the following contests:

Doug Ingalls Monologue Contest, Scene Partner Contest, HS Excellence in Technical Theater Contest, HS Festival Logo Design Contest

For member schools there is a $10.00 entry fee per student, per contest for the following contests:

Sherwood Collins Playwriting Contest, Monologue Writing Contest, 10-Minute Play Contest

For non-member schools there is a $15.00 entry fee per student, per contest for the following contests:

Sherwood Collins Playwriting Contest, Monologue Writing Contest, 10-Minute Play Contest
